Metrics that answer different questions
Accuracy is only the winning percentage. Also calculate average win, average loss, expectancy after costs, maximum drawdown, longest losing sequence, exposure by pair and the share of results coming from the best few trades. A 75% win rate can still lose money if the average loss is much larger than the average win.
Ten-signal demo protocol
- Freeze the provider’s stated rules before starting.
- Record every signal, including skipped or cancelled ones.
- Use one fixed virtual cash-risk amount.
- Capture signal timestamp, platform quote and actual fill.
- Apply no discretionary improvement after seeing the result.
- Calculate net R after all costs.
- Reject the service if signals cannot be independently reproduced.
Fraud and manipulation red flags
- Guaranteed monthly return or 100% win rate.
- Pressure to deposit with a named broker through a private link.
- Requests for remote access, PA password or one-time code.
- Results shown only inside a dashboard controlled by the seller.
- Withdrawal requires a new “tax” or “unlock” payment.
- Income depends on recruiting new subscribers.
Why AI does not change the standard
A model can process data quickly, but it cannot know future shocks or remove execution uncertainty. The CFTC specifically warns that scammers use AI and bot terminology to promise implausible or guaranteed returns. Judge the evidence, not the technology label.

Questions from a first-time learner
Is a high win rate enough?
No. Average loss, costs, drawdown and selection bias can reverse the result.
Can a verified backtest replace live evidence?
No. It can support research, but live quotes and execution introduce new errors.
Should I share my trading password with a signal provider?
No. A signal does not require access to your PA password or one-time codes.
What is the first paid-service test?
Do not pay first. Verify identity, terms and an auditable record, then reproduce signals on demo.
