Risk comes first

CFDs use leverage and can cause substantial losses. Margin is collateral, not the maximum amount that can be lost.

EXNESS / PRODUCT GUIDE

Forex Algo Trading with Exness Pakistan

Algorithmic trading is software execution of explicit rules, not an automatic source of profit. On Exness, the implementation route matters: MetaTrader EAs run only on MT4/MT5 desktop, while the Exness API requires an eligible Exness-platform account and does not connect standard MetaTrader accounts.

Strategy specification before code

  1. Define exact symbol, timeframe and session.
  2. Specify entry using data available at decision time.
  3. Define invalidation, stop, target and time exit.
  4. Calculate volume from cash risk.
  5. Set spread, HMR, news and daily-loss filters.
  6. Specify retry, duplicate-order and disconnect behaviour.
  7. Define the state-reconciliation source after restart.

Realistic test model

InputMinimum treatment
Bid/AskTest the correct side of market, not midpoint only
SpreadTime-varying values including stressed windows
Commission/swapExact account and symbol rules
SlippageDistribution from demo/live observations
LatencySignal, request, acknowledgement and fill timestamps
ErrorsRejected, timed-out and duplicate response scenarios

Controlled deployment ladder

  1. Unit-test calculations with known inputs.
  2. Backtest on in-sample and untouched out-of-sample periods.
  3. Run chart replay/manual verification.
  4. Forward-test on demo through normal and volatile sessions.
  5. Run on a VPS with monitoring but no real funds.
  6. If accepted, use the smallest practical live exposure and a hard kill switch.

Operational safeguards

  • Maximum orders and exposure per symbol/account.
  • Daily realised and equity drawdown stop.
  • Spread and stale-price rejection.
  • Idempotent order IDs and state reconciliation.
  • Heartbeat alert for terminal/API/VPS failure.
  • Manual close procedure if automation is disabled.
  • Log retention for every signal and broker response.
