Why open does not mean liquid
During rollover, liquidity can thin and spreads widen even if a symbol shows prices. XAUUSD is usually closed during the forex rollover. Holiday sessions may be shorter, and cryptocurrencies can trade at weekends but still have breaks or server maintenance. Use live spread and trade-mode checks, not only clock time.
Maintenance planning
Current general guidance lists weekend maintenance windows and warns they may be extended or shortened. Cent and Trial servers may also have brief daily maintenance. Keep no time-critical automation dependent on a static maintenance table; monitor current PA notifications.
